Ancient practice of reflexology struggles to gain foothold in mainstream medicine

By Toni Laxson, Tribune

In the U.S., reflexology is roped with all the other alternative therapies such as reiki or aromatherapy and its practitioners are legally prohibited from claiming that they can heal maladies, says Ross. Almost everywhere else, though, including Great Britain, Australia, China and New Zealand, reflexology is regarded as being much more credible.

Those were neat socks and gloves. We have the charts here. I think I bought them when we were in Sedona. There is a lot of truth to the reflexology and that it is a great healing tool. The thing is the cost of visiting such practitioner, just like massage. I think more people would embrace this principle if they could afford to use it. Of course some insurance companies are now covering such things. That is.....if you have insurance Sad
Oh , I sure could use a massage overhaul right now...lol!!!

Probably true. And that's also way many people do not go to a doctor... they cannot afford to. I'm STILL receiving bills in the mail for visits to the doctor I did MONTHS ago.... so long ago that I don't even remember what the bill is for, which really ticks me off. In fact, I received a bill from Pathology ($140.00) for a biopsy I had a few months ago, and this bill is in addition to the office visit charge (separate bill), and another lab bill. Once you go to a doctor, the bills never stop coming in... I can never tell IF or WHEN a particular visit is FINALLY paid in full. I won't even get started on the insurance crap...... gawd.... I HATE OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM!! At least when I go to my chiro, it's 45.00. Period. End of story.

Buying your own insurance is a big expense also. No wonder so many people can not retire. Several I have talked to have gone back to work JUST to pay their insurance. But.......if you don't have it and something happens to you.....well...does up the creek without a paddle sound familiar? Then there are the "out of network" doctors that you HAVE to go see that insurance will not even cover, or if they do it's a small amount. Ugggggg. I have got to be looking for some affordable health insurance soon. I really dread it.

This is where I found my health insurance.

Health Insurance... Instant Quotes!

My payments started out at 120.00/mo, but recently went up to 140... which is still half of what I was paying with that BS (Blue Shield) insurance company.
