The winner for Best Picture at the prestigious Beverly Hills Film Festival 2004, the film which took home the Golden Palm, is "The Gerson Miracle."
Howard Straus is associate producer and co-writer. He and his mother, Charlotte Gerson, are messengers to the world regarding the pioneering work in cancer therapy forged by Straus' grandfather, Max Gerson, M.D.
Only 28 of 2,000 films submitted made the finals. These films were evaluated by a jury of Hollywood studio executives, actors, directors, producers and distributors.
Straus said the 91-minute film is an epic story of hope for anyone stricken with cancer and a host of chronic and debilitating diseases, including tuberculosis, rheumatoid arthritis, migraines and emphysema.
"We want the general public to understand there are other ways than traditional medicine to care for chronic diseases," Straus said. "This movie will be used to educate people about the most successful of the alternative therapies used in fighting cancer."
