The dawn of Winter had arrived and a hunter went out into the wilderness to shoot a bear which he planned to use to make a warm fur coat. He came across a bear, raised his gun and took aim. "Wait, wait" said the bear, "Why do you want to shoot me?" "Because Winter has arrived, I am cold, and i need a coat", said the hunter." But I am hungry," the bear replied, "if we could reason and talk this over, we could come to a compromise."

The hunter sat down beside the bear and began to talk it over. In the end the hunter got his fur coat, and the bear had eaten his dinner.

Compromise is simply changing the question to fit the answer.

But.... in the biblical sense, the moral of this story is that we always lose out when we try to compromise by doing the "wrong" thing. It will consume us in the end.

Isn't philosophy about perception? Can perception alter the intuitive way of thinking?

Everything is a matter of perception, including what we, as a society, deem to be "right" or "wrong."

I think the moral of the story is:

Do not bargain with a bear

That is the "wrong" thing to do.

On perception ....

If I look at the blue sky and you look at the same blue sky, I have no assurance whatsoever that I see what you see.

If you hear Bach's Tocatta and Fuge in D minor, and I hear the same piece, do we perceive the same?

The only thing you can be assured of is that we are both looking at the sky, and we are both listening to music. Wink

Our perceptions are based on our own level of understanding, and on our own Truths.
