Homeopathic Care: Cost of Treatment

As with all health practitioners, the cost of homeopathic care varies from one homeopath to another. Generally speaking, medical doctors who practice homeopathy charge more (ranging from $100.00 to $300.00US) than non-medical doctors (ranging from $50.00 to $250.00US), and the longer the practitioner has been practicing, the higher the fees may be.

The first visit usually lasts from 60 to 90 minutes. Follow-up visits last between 15 and 45 minutes. M.D.s may charge from $50.00 to $100.00, while Homeopaths typically charge from $30.00 to $80.00.  Homeopathic M.D.s tend to spend significantly less time with their patients than Homeopathic practitioners. Homeopaths often discourage frequent visits unless they are medically necessary, and the time between visits can be up to six months. This makes the yearly cost of homeopathic care considerably less than conventional medical care, including the cost of prescription drugs. This does not factor in further cost savings that result from having a stronger immune system, thereby preventing future costly diseases.

The absence of side effects from homeopathic medicine also reduces the cost of care, since side effects from prescription drugs usually lead to the need for additional medical treatments.

The actual cost of the medicine itself is negligible. If only one medicine is prescribed (as is most common), it costs between $4.00 and $10.00, depending on where you shop.

Attempting to treat yourself and avoid professional homeopaths can be more costly in the long run because it is highly unlikely that self-care will be effective.
